The cloud-based, Accountant-Centric interface design enables both accountants and clients to access the same application, and allows accountants to tailor client access to specific functions based on the client's needs, abilities, and experience.
Client permissions are organized by functional area on the Permissions screen. Using the options available, you can give clients access to a range of functions, from none at all to almost anything the accountant can do.
To grant a client access, you must first sign the client up for accounting services, subscribe the client to the Client Accountant Services add-on, and provide the client with a login ID and password.
Once the client has been signed up and subscribed, you can provide the client with the appropriate access rights.
To grant client access:
1. Ensure that the target client has been signed up for accounting services and has been subscribed to the Client Accountant Services add-on.
If the target client is not listed in the Sign Up Client dialog, select Setup from the Launcher on the right side of the interface to open the Administration module. Click List on the Client Setup screen to view the Client List and verify that the client has been set up, or click Add to create the client in the system from the Client Setup screen. You can sign the client up for specific applications and create a client login from the Client Setup screen in the Administration module.
Note: To ensure security, the system sends an email to the client with basic login information and a link from which the client can create a password.
You must also enter information about the company in the Company Setup screen to set up the company in the system and complete the sign-up process.
2. Select Permissions from the Company menu to open the Permissions screen.
The screen lists all of the available permissions for the client if access has been enabled.
3. Click the link to create the client login and send your client an email with their login information, if necessary, or select the Allow Client Access option to enable the client to use the interface.
You can now customize the client's access permissions.
4. Click the checkboxes in the list of permissions to specify the features and functions the client can access.
Alternatively, select the All Above Permissions option at the bottom of the list to provide maximum client rights.
5. Click Client View to view the program from the client's perspective.
To return to the accountant's view, click My View on the Global toolbar.
6. Click Default Permissions button to restore all default permissions.
7. Click Save to apply the selected permissions to the client.
