View Alerts

Alerts keep you informed about conditions in a client's profile that might require monitoring or follow-up action.

To view all alerts:

1.  Click the Alerts button on the Global toolbar.

The Alerts screen appears, displaying all of the alerts defined for the specified client, organized under four headings, depending on the type of alert:

§        Information: Items of general interest that do not require specific action.

§        Alerts: Items requiring prompt or immediate action, such as transactions written to the suspense account, transactions erroneously written to a future period, or inventory items falling below a specified threshold.

§        Warnings: Circumstances that may be of immediate concern to you or your client, and which present an opportunity for you to offer beneficial advice (for example, balances outside a safe threshold amount due to an excess in receivables or payables, or a discount from a vendor that is due to expire in five days).

§        Ratios: Calculated ratios that do not require immediate attention, but which could indicate a potential long-term concern (for example, the current ratio or working capital).

2.  Click Refresh to refresh the screen if necessary.

3.  Click Setup to open the Alert Preferences screen, on which you can customize the alerts that appear in the Alerts screen, identifying the alerts to display and specifying the conditions that trigger alerts if a balance falls outside a safe threshold.

To access the Alert Preferences screen directly, select Alerts from the Company menu.
